Topic:  Automatic Undo Management & Flashback Query

Oracle9i introduced Automatic Management of Rollback Segments, now called Undo Segments. We will discuss what undo segments are, how Oracle manages those, what is and is not automatic about them.

You will learn how undo segments attempt to minimize 'Snapshot too old' error.  You will also learn what role these automatic undo segments play in yet another new feature, called 'Flashback Query'.

Flashback Query can be used to see data as it existed at a point in time in the past. A demonstration of this feature will show you how non-DBA users can use it to recover from accidental data deletions, modifications as well as track data changes.

Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity. Bring any questions on this topic to discuss during the Q&A session. This will be a highly technical presentation to database designers, developers and architects. Come and learn from what the expert has to share.
